Sept 16 Tues Periods 1,3,5	Students will know at each link in a food web some energy is stored in newly made structures but much energy is dissipated into the environment as heat. This dissipation may be represented in an energy pyramid.	1) Check homework while taking down organism names and identifying trophic levels from "Jungles" Planet Earth Video 2) Use organisms from the Chaparral biome near Corona to calculate biomass of trophic levels (see spreadsheet) 3) Discussion of food chains, food webs, & energy pyramids. 4) Compare & contrast a food chain and food web. 5) Homework: Ch18-4 outline & vocab & cues; take pretest online
Sept 18 Thurs Periods 1,3,5	Students will know how water, carbon, and nitrogen cycle between abiotic resources and organic matter in the ecosystem and how oxygen cycles through photosynthesis and respiration.	1) Homework check while viewing Planet Earth segments. 2) Explanation of organic compounds 3) Explanation of photosynthesis & respiration 4) Ch 18 study guide and biogeochemical cycles project
Sept 22 PLC Mon Periods 1-6	Students will know how water, carbon, and nitrogen cycle between abiotic resources and organic matter in the ecosystem and how oxygen cycles through photosynthesis and respiration.	1) Work entire hour on biogeochemical cycles project. Some help with questions given. Homework: ch 18 study guide with biogeochemical diagrams due on Tuesday
